HKCARD ELECTRONICS CO.,LIMITED (HKCARD) helps operators, enterprises, and system integrators plan and build 5G networks. The focus areas include 5G consulting, custom 5G private networks, small cells, eSIMs, and rugged end-user devices. HKCARD also supplies SIM cards with SUCI support, which are now a standard requirement for secure 5G standalone deployments.

This page breaks down the main services and products HKCARD offers, so you can decide what fits your project.

1. 5G Consulting: RAN Sharing and SIM Card Control

Setting up a 5G network involves many decisions. HKCARD provides consulting in two key areas that directly affect cost and security.

RAN Sharing
RAN sharing lets two or more operators use the same radio access network. Instead of each operator building its own towers and base stations, they share the infrastructure. HKCARD advises on the two most common models:

  • MORAN (Multi-Operator Radio Access Network): Operators share radio hardware but keep separate frequencies.
  • MOCN (Multi-Operator Core Network): Operators share both radio hardware and frequencies, while each runs its own core network.

RAN sharing can lower capital expenses, speed up rollout, and improve coverage in rural or low-density areas. HKCARD helps you choose the model that fits your spectrum holdings and business goals.

SIM Card Control
SIM card control is about deciding who can access the network and what they can do. HKCARD guides you through:

  • Defining SIM profiles and access rights
  • Managing authentication parameters (IMSI, Ki, OPC)
  • Planning for remote SIM provisioning
  • Preparing for 5G security features like SUCI

Good SIM control policies stop unauthorized devices and reduce roaming fraud.

2. Custom 5G Private Networks: Sub 6GHz and mmWave

Public networks do not always meet the needs of factories, ports, mines, or university campuses. A custom 5G private network gives you dedicated capacity, low latency, and full control over data.

HKCARD supports 5G Standalone (SA) private networks in two frequency ranges:

  • Sub 6GHz: Covers a wider area and penetrates walls better. Suitable for large outdoor sites, warehouses, and general enterprise coverage.
  • mmWave (millimeter wave): Provides very high data rates and low latency, but range is short. Suitable for high-density hotspots, fixed wireless access, and specialized industrial tasks.

5G small cells are part of the solution. Small cells are compact radio units that can be mounted indoors or outdoors. HKCARD can supply small cells that work in your chosen band and integrate with your core network.

3. SIM Cards with SUCI Support

5G changes how a subscriber identity is sent over the radio. In 4G, the IMSI is transmitted in clear text during initial attach. This allows IMSI catchers to track users. In 5G, the network can request a SUCI (Subscription Concealed Identifier).

A SUCI SIM contains the home network’s public key. When the device connects, the SIM itself encrypts the subscriber identity before sending it. Only the home network can decrypt it. This protects user privacy and meets 3GPP 5G security specifications.

HKCARD supplies SUCI SIM cards for:

  • Private 5G SA networks
  • Network equipment testing
  • IoT devices that require 5G authentication
  • Operators migrating from 4G to 5G

If your network uses 5G SA, you should ask for SUCI-supported SIMs. HKCARD can provide technical details on supported algorithms, key lengths, and profile structure.

4. eSIM and Rugged End User Devices

A private network is only useful if reliable devices can connect to it. HKCARD addresses this through eSIM technology and rugged hardware.

eSIM support
eSIM removes the physical SIM swap. A device with an eSIM can download a profile over the air. For a fleet of sensors or field units, this saves time and reduces truck rolls. HKCARD can help you provision eSIM profiles for your private 5G or 4G network, including SUCI-enabled profiles.

Rugged end user devices
HKCARD can supply rugged 5G devices for harsh environments. These include:

  • Handhelds with IP67 rating
  • Vehicle-mounted routers
  • Industrial gateways with wide temperature range
  • Devices with external antenna ports for Sub 6GHz or mmWave

Rugged devices keep your workforce connected in construction, mining, agriculture, and logistics.

5. How to Work with HKCARD on a 5G Project

HKCARD works with operators, neutral hosts, system integrators, and enterprise IT teams. A typical engagement starts with a short consultation to define your requirements.

When you contact HKCARD, please include:

  • Project type: private network, test lab, or operator rollout
  • Frequency band: Sub 6GHz, mmWave, or both
  • Number of SIM cards and whether SUCI is needed
  • eSIM or physical SIM preference
  • Any rugged device requirements
